This palette is actually from Laneige`s current limited edition makeup line. Every season, Laneige comes out with a new limited edition line to their makeup collection. This one was for the Summer 2012 collection called Sweet Bloom. The theme was romanticism.
First off, I`ve sampled a LOT of the new limited edition palettes in the last week, from both the NARS x Andy Warhol collection to the unknown branded Cinderella one from Sephora. This one seemed to be one of the most economical in terms of price. The palette was $35 and it included 9 very different colors as well as 2 double-sided brushes.
The first 6 colors on the left are actually like base eyeshadows. As you can tell, they`re very pastel colors, promoting the theme of summer floral colors.
You have your basic base colors in standard pink, beige and rouge. This will serve as your base colors to both highlight the upper lid and to contour the crease. They also double up as blushes which is why they added a small kabuki type brush with the palette.
The coral was not a very nice coral color in my opinion, it was quite dull as you can tell. However, it does blend well with the pink and beige base.
The pastel blue and purple are the ones to help make your eyes pop with color. They`re a very lovely shade of pastel, and it seemingly matches a lot of people because they shades are super sheer. The one thing I found was that the blue still did not go well with people who had tan or yellowish skin, which is most Asians, which I find ironic.
You also have 3 very dark eyeshadows that are used to line your eyes. You have charcoal blue, black and deep purple. I found the deep purple very beautiful and it goes well withe purple pastel, pink and rouge eyeshadows.
The quality of the eyeshadows, I found, were not on par with their standard Laneige line. They were very flakey and not at all smooth as I had anticipated. The shimmers kept falling over my cheeks, which I found annoying. However, for the price of the colors, it makes for a good palette to travel with.
Hope that helps.
