Hi everyone! A few months ago I went to the Vacaville outlet mall and was able to find some goodies at the two different cosmetic outlets they have there.
For those of you who are not familiar: discount MAC cosmetics can be found at the `Cosmetic Company Outlet` store (hence CCO), where other brands who are owned by the same PARENT company as MAC can be found: Estee Lauder, Smashbox, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Origins, etc. The other cosmetic discount store is called `Lancome-Designer Fragrances & Cosmetic Co.` which sells brands owned by Lancome`s parent company. There you will find mostly Lancome cosmetics, but you can find Giorgio Armani cosmetics and fragrances, YSL, and other luxury brands.
At the Lancome outlet I was able to find some pretty good deals on some items:
>> Lancome Color Design 5 Shadow and Liner Palette in `Golden Frenzy` (normally ~$50, but on sale for $10!): I had actually bought this palette from Sephora at full price last year but returned it because the price didn`t justify the product. So you can only imagine how surprised I was to see this palette selling for less than $20 at the outlet. I immediately picked one up.
>> Lancome Color Fever Gloss in `387` (normally $27): I can`t remember how much this was when I bought it, but it was definitely not $27. I think it was also on super sale so it might have been $5 or $7, which is a pretty good deal. 387 is a light pink gloss with silver shimmer/glitter which is mostly sheer when worn on the lips. It also has a really overpowering rose scent which I don`t like. I don`t normally smell my glosses before buying them; if I had I probably wouldn`t have purchased this in the first place.
Note: consider your purchases at the Lancome outlet very carefully before buying because they do not accept returns.
At the MAC outlet I only picked up one item:
>> MAC makeup wipes (normally $20 for 45 wipes; $16 for 45 at the outlet): I loved these wipes after using testers at the MAC counter, but $20 is a lot to spend on makeup wipes that you will use everyday so I just get the makeup wipes from Costco, which come in a huge box of about 3 or 4 packs of wipes for less than $15. The lower price tag of the outlet was a bit more bearable and I`ve picked up at least two bags of wipes from the outlet. They were not dried up or old, and the only reason they ended up at the outlet was because MAC repackaged the wipes. These are big enough that I can use one wipe to remove two days of makeup, so in theory these would last me three months if I wore makeup everyday. Not bad for $16, but I have since gone back to the Costco wipes.
Thanks for reading! Have you picked up any goodies from the outlets lately?
