how is it that I haven`t posted about this palette yet other than when I hauled it ?? the last time I used any lancome shadows was when I got one of those GWP sets with my Miracle perfume over 5 yrs ago, sad, I know. I wasn`t really into makeup then, well not as I am now so I`m pretty sure I did not fully appreciate it. it`s a different story now.
this little pretty is the Lancome Color Design 5 Shadow palette in Taupe Craze, one of 18 sold at Sephora - crazy huh? it has 5 shadows clearly marked as all over base, lid, crease, high lighter and liner. it comes with two sponge tip applicators, one looks like a regular kind and the other is a thin pointed one, for the liner shade as well as a good size mirror. it comes in a very sleek black case with the Lancome rose on the corner, just classic. now let`s talk about the shadows
all over base: it`s a creamy shade with a hint of sheen/shimmer, not huge chunky glitter though. it`s quite buttery and soft.
lid: this is a very shiny light taupe shade. it`s packed full of shimmer on the pan but it doesn`t actually transfer all crazy glittery on to the lid, it`s cool toned and super pretty.
crease: it`s a medium warm matte brown, very pigmented and blends extremely well.
highlighter : a definite light taupe shadow with a lot of glitter in the pan but it transfers very nicely, it`s almost metallic actually.
liner: looks like a cool toned, shimmery but very deep taupe-ish brown. this color looks amazing smudged along the lashlines.
is it worth the $49 price tag? I think the shades are easily dupable in many other brands and other palettes. if you`re a sucker for packaging and the posh of it all like I am then by all means, if you`re a budget shopper though I`m sure there are some drugstore shadows that would work just as well.
