If you`ve ate a Korean restaurant then you may have tried a sweet potato side dish. I`ve never made this at home myself, it was always my mom who made it. But I tried the other day. As you can see, I accidentally over cooked the potatoes. To make this you`ll need potato, garlic, soy sauce, sugar, corn syrup, and roasted sesame seeds. I would recommend cutting the potato into larger pieces or cooking on lower heat. Corn syrup adds extra sweetness and shine, and sesame seeds are for garnish, but both ingredients are optional so I`ve omitted them.
The ingredients you`ll need:
- 3 potatoes
- soy sauce
First I fried the potato for a few minutes until half cooked. Then I added 1/2 cup of water, three tablespoon of sugar, two tablespoons of soy sauce, and one teaspoon of minced garlic. Cook the potatoes for a minute and adjust the flavour to your preference. Cook until the potatoes are ready and the sauce has thickened. Reduce the heat if needed to prevent the potatoes from being over cooked. Although over cooked, it was good. Sweet and savoury from the sugar and soy sauce. This is one of my favourite side dishes.
