I was at an art show downtown with my friend a few weekends ago, and we were planning on getting some dinner afterward.
We were having such a tough time deciding on what to eat (that`s the problem when you are downtown and the options seem endless), when my friend came up with the idea of having some Korean fried chicken.
If you haven`t heard of Korean fried chicken, it`s basically a Korean double frying method that gets the chicken super crispy. This is the superior `KFC` if you ask me ;).
While you can get this other KFC on a lot of Korean resto menus, there are also places that specialize in just Korean Fried chicken, like this place called The Fry.
They have different options and flavours, we decided to go with a plain option as well the traditional spicy one.
It was my first time at the Fry, but I can tell you, if you ever feel like cheating on your diet with some great fried food, this is the place to go!
You will probably put on a pound or two just walking in and smelling the air - but it was well worth.
And the portions were also generous so we ended up taking the extras home. The great thing about their double frying method is that even when you eat it the next day, and reheat in the microwave, the chicken doesn`t get soggy - it is still as crispy as ever!
I just found out that The Fry has multiple locations in Canada, including one fairly close to where I work. I think i`m going to take my brother there soon, since I know he will love it!
Have you guys ever had Korean Fried Chicken? What is your favourite spot to munch on some Asian KFC :P?
