If you are not Korean, then you might be looking at the picture and saying..what the heck?
Well...let me explain.
The big round dish you see is called the Bul Go Gi hot pot. Bul Go Gi is thinly sliced marinated beef. The broth of this hot pot is a secrete, I don`t even know..it`s my mother in laws specialty. She also added tofu, Korean cabbage, carrots and different kinds of mushroom.
The other dishes are just kim chi, potato pancake, egg covered grilled mushrooms, and the colorful one is like a kabob. The kabob has crab meat, asparagus and carrots. we also pan grilled these. There`s also some tiny kabob that has ginkgo tree fruit? seed? with rice cake..also pan grilled.
There are way more side dishes than these, but these are the main ones that I wanted to share with you guys. This isn`t typical Korean every day meal, it was my daughters birthday. This would be more like a small party dinner with the family or gathering meal.
Seriously, I love Korean food. It`s time consuming to cook Korean dishes..but it`s well worth it. It really isn`t because I am Korean, or maybe it is..lol Anyway, it`s so yummy, if you have never tried Korean food, you need to. Start with Korean BBQ, that`s what every one likes.
