Hi everyone! This is probably one of the best deals I have ever had since both of the items pictured were free! How you may ask? Well, if you shop at Sears, Kmart, or any other store owned by the same parent company, you are probably familiar with the Shop Your Way rewards program. It is a free program where you earn points every time you shop. The points are converted into money which you can use on future purchases. I used to work for Sears, so it was part of my job to tell people about this program and help them sign up, however, my mom was a member of the rewards program long before I worked at Sears. It`s a free program and you essentially get money back to spend at the store on a future purchase, so why not sign up?
I have heard good things about the Coty Airspun loose powder, initially hearing about it from Tati of GlamLifeGuru on YouTube. This is the powder she uses in her most recent tutorials and she claims it gives your face a flawless finish and helps your face stay matte. I`m always looking to try new face powders and anything that helps with my oiliness, so naturally I was curious.
Tati said that this powder can be found at Walgreen`s, but a quick online search told me that none of my local Walgreen`s carried this product. After searching online some more, someone mentioned they could be purchased at Kmart, so I went to check their website and the powders were not only available, but on clearance for 50% off! This product ranges from about $5 to $7 depending on where you purchase it, but at Kmart, on clearance, it was just over $3!
Now how did I get these for free, again? I had over $6 in rewards points that were expiring TODAY and used them to place an order for two of these powders. Grand total for two of these powders was absolutely nothing out of pocket! Occasionally they will also have promotions to earn extra points or will deposit bonus points into your account to entice you to go to the store and buy something.
I haven`t had a chance to try them, since I just purchased these today but I can tell you some initial thoughts:
1. This powder is heavily fragranced. I knew this from other reviews and it is true: it smells like old lady. The formula for the product is still the original formula from 1935! Since then they have released a non-frangranced, luminous version, an extra coverage version, as well as tinted powders. The ones I purchased were `Translucent.`
2. The powder itself is finely milled and soft.
3. The packaging is huge and not travel friendly. This baby is a whopping 65 grams of loose powder in a plastic container with a sifter lid. The container is about as big as my hand, so this is not something I would take around with me.
I`m excited to try this and see if it works as well as everyone says it does. Check out your local Kmart to see if this item is on clearance in your area.
Thanks for reading! Have you tried this product before? What did you think of it?
