The kindle fire has been out for a while now. The even better kindle fire hd has also been released. In this article, I will explain how to download third party apps onto your kindle fire. I know that this method works on the first generation kindle fire, however, I am not aware if this also works on the newer versions.
Third Party apps are basically apps that are not available in your device`s app store. The kindle fire app store has a wide variety of apps to choose from, but may not have the exact app that you are looking for. http://4shared.com is a great substitution for the amazon app store. The following are step by step directions on how to download an app from their website.
Step 1: On your kindle fire, go to the browser and type in http://4shared.com.
Step 2: A website will pop up that has a search bar right on its home screen.
Step 3: Tap on the search bar and type in the name of the app you are looking for.
Step 4: Press Search
Step 5: A list of results will come up. These results include all types of files, so you cannot necessarily click on the first one you see.
Step 6: Files that are compatible to download on your kindle will end in a ".apk"
Step 7: Tap on one of those files and download the file.
Step 8: Once the file is done downloading, a message will appear that asks if you want to install the application. Tap install.
Step 9: You should now have the app, enjoy!
Note: In order to install third party apps, you must have the "Allow Installation of Applications" bar checked in the "on" position. This can be accessed through: settings>more>device
