Karla Bakes: CAKEPOPS!

4 years ago

Yesterday, my cousin, sister and i attempted to make cakepops. It`s super fun and simple to make, it took us about 2 hours to make about 40 cakepops. It was our first time so these cake pops are not as cute as all the ones i see online LOL im a noob so i didnt decorate much. Ohwell practice makes perfect :P We brought some to my aunts house party and the kids loved them! Good thing we gave some away because i know i would`ve eaten all of them hahah I will definitely make these again! I posted ingrediants/supplies & deirections below incas anyone was interested in making them :)

What you`ll need:
Box cake mix of your choice {and ingredients listed on box}
1/2 package of chocolate frosting
Chocolate Candy Melts
Candy sticks
Food Coloring
Vegetable Oil Spray

1. Grease cake pan with vegetable oil or butter

2. Follow directions on the box of the cake mix to make cake batter. Then pour batter into the pan and cook in oven.

3. When it`s done baking, allow it to cool. Then remove the cake from the pan and place it on a large mixing bowl.

4. Crumble the cake with your hands. Gradually add in frosting until the cake becomes moist and sticks together.

5. Roll your cake mix into 1 inch balls using the palms of your hands.

6. To melt the chocolate. Boil a small pot of water, then place a bowl of the chocolate ontop of the pot. Stir until all the chocolate is melted.

7. Take a cake pop stick and dip into the chocolate about 1 inch. Place it into the center of your cake ball, this will act as a glue keeping your cake pop and stick attached. Place it on the styrofoam to allow it to harden.

8. Now you are ready to coat your cake pops in the delicious chocolate. Once you have evenly coated the pop, gently tap the stick on the side of the bowl to get off any excess chocolate that would drip.

9. Place them on the styrofoam to harden. You can put food colouring in the remainder of the chocolate and use it as decorations :)
