Similar to all the previous months this year, June also went pretty quickly but a little slower that the others. I think it felt that way because I was quite busy throughout the month, I finished all my exams and now I have a lot more free and relaxing time.
I also have quite few things to look forward, like my birthday...
Now onto the beauty favourites, my make up varied through the month. At the beginning of June I was focussing on studying and exams and the only time I would wear makeup is when I went to school to sit the exams, at that time my make up was just a bit of concealer and eyeliner but as the exams came to an end, I went out more and met up with friends so wore some more make up.
As for brushes, one brand of brushes is dominant. These brushes have been hyped up a lot recently and a lot more when they finally came to the UK in boots stores. During June I have been using some of the Real Techniques brushes a lot, the ones that made my favourites of the month are the Blush brush- Instead of using this for blush, I have been using it for powder to matte my face, which tends to get very shiny especially during humid weather. The deluxe crease brush- which I have been using to blend concealer and correctors. Next the Stippling brush, which I have been loving for the foundation I have been wearing. I find that the stippling brush and the buffing brush are both great for foundations, however for different types. The stippling brush for me provides a better finish when using a light sheer foundation and tinted moisturisers, whereas the buffing brush seems to gives me a more preferable finish when using a medium coverage foundation. Lastly for real techniques, their accent brush, this brush is the perfect shape and size for creating a smudgy, smokey look on the lower lash line. The last brush I have been loving is a brush from Avon, it is an angled blush brush. I was positively surprised with this brush, I didnt expect it to deliver as well as it did. The bristles are very soft, but the brush itself is not very dense. This makes it great for extremely pigment blushes.
The only new skincare product I have tried this month is a sample sizes of the Liz Earle, Instant boost skin tonic. For a sample size, they have defiantly been generous, I have been using it for most of the month and I still have about a quarter of the product left! The scent is really lovely, calming and relaxing. I tend to use it in the morning or evening just to refresh my skin, it is alcohol free which I also loves because my skin gets easily irritated by facial products that contain alcohol. I mention earlier that my skin get more shiny than usual when the weather is humid, to regularly blot my face I have been using the elf translucent matifying powder. If I was not wearing much make up, I would use the Bobbi brown corrector to correct my dark under eye circles, although this does crease on me a lot, but it is the only product that seems to work under my eyes without looking grey. As for foundation, I only wore foundation a few time during the last two weeks and it has been the MAC face and body, I really love this because it is so light and evens out my skin tone. As for blush I have been enjoying Bourjois 33, It a really pretty pink/coral which has a bit of shimmer- very summer appropriate! I have also been loving a colour that I have never had in my collection, I really like it and think it goes very well with my skin tone, it is an Avon blush in Russet. I would describe the colour as a coral mixed with a bit of brick red, it has a matte finish.
I have been layering mascaras which is something I do not usually do, the two mascaras I been using is the benefit theyre real and the Lancôme definicils. I absolutely love the theyre real on its own but it has become a little drier than usual.
As for eyeliner I have been enjoying the look of brown liner on my waterline, a lot more than black. Black seems to close up my eye. As for eye shadows, I have been fond of three in particular and were feature in my previous post. MAC eye shadow in sketch and both Bourjois intense eye shadows in a matte brown and black colour. As an eye shadow base I have been using a Maybelline colour tattoo in on and on bronze.
As for nails I have loved the colour sandy lane from the Topshop nail collection.
The rose flavoured Vaseline will always be a personal favourite of mine. The poppy king lipgloss from No7 in the colour allure is lovely. It does not feel sticky at all and I really like the way it looks. Next a Maybelline pop stick in crystal pink, this looks very natural on my lips and lastly a Barry M lipstick in 152 its a pretty matte mauve pink colour.
