I said for the longest time that I would not be signing up for the Julep Maven program. I really stuck to my guns for months and months. As you can see, though, I broke down and signed up. Why? Well, I kept seeing the penny promos pop up and finally just couldn`t resist. For a penny, what is there to lose? If I don`t like it, I can always cancel my subscription, but for a penny it gives me a great opportunity to try out their polish. I have heard so much hype about their polishes. I know things were sketchy when they first launched, but now that quite a few months have gone by I am hoping they have things sorted out. I placed my order over the weekend and my package arrived to my door, USPS, on Wednesday afternoon. It came as a black box with their name and logo on the side. Everything was packaged nicely and nothing was leaking or broke. It had a bunch of crinkly black paper shreds in it. That made for a cute presentation as well as helping to keep things from flying around within the box. Practical and appealing! My two bottles of polish were wrapped in bubble wrap and then placed inside a plastic bag with a pink bow holding it all together. There were also two cards in my box. One is a welcome card for joining the Julep Maven program and explains a bit more about the program and the company. The other card is for my particular style box. Mine is the Boho Glam. It talks about the products within my specific box. The first item in my box is a Julep Facial For Hands Glycolic Hand Scrub. It says it is a potent glycolic acid combined with apricot seeds that provides powerful double exfoliation that leaves your hands feeling noticeably softer and looking younger after just one use. Naturally scented with orange oil for a refreshing aromatherapy boost with each use. I rarely use actual scrubs or anything outside of lotions/creams/cuticle balms so I`m curious about this. I have heard good things from, I believe, Jalapena2007 on YouTube. For the polishes, I received two. I know some boxes come with three polishes. Mine came with Alicia and Portia as well as an emery board. This wasn`t the style the website matched me with, but after looking through the available boxes, this one had the colors that most appealed to me and that *I* felt suited my style. Alicia is a sunny salmon creme. Perfect for beach pedicures and fresh, modern manicures. I adore peachy-pink shades, so I`ll be trying this one out VERY soon! Portia is a sheer tropical blue with glittery sparkles that will remind you of a day on the beach. I can definitely tell by looking at the bottle that this will be sheer and probably best to layer over another polish. I`m okay with that, though, because it is stunning! I haven`t tried any of these products yet, but as I do I will do a review with my thoughts. I just wanted to share my haul with you. Right now, I believe, you can still get the penny promo. http://www.julep.com/?r=19806710 to go to their site and take the style quiz. From there you can select to keep that box or choose a different style box if you don`t like their selection for you. Add the box that you want to your shopping cart and at checkout use code PENNY to get your Julep box for just a penny!
