A week ago, I found out that Julep had a promotional code for the first month to cost just $0.01 (including shipping!). I`ve been seeing so many posts about Julep polishes lately that I decided I wanted to give it a try.
I did the quick little style survey and they suggested the Boho Glam box. At first, I was kind of iffy. I don`t normally like blues, and I thought a lot of gold polishes looked a little on the tacky side.
However, when I opened the box today and saw the polishes in person, I was absolutely in LOVE. Oscar is a glittery gold, which has a lot of depth of shine. Marisa is a deep, cobalt blue which shimmers with silvery undertones. Last was the Essential Cuticle Oil, which I`m in love with.
The bottles state that you should use 2 coats of color, but for Marisa, I was able to use a thick single coat and it covered my nails completely. I played around with Oscar to try to get a gradient tip, and was somewhat successful for my very first attempt to do so. They`re very thick polishes, and they went on quite smoothly.
Marisa base and Oscar gradient tips. A little messy but I love how it turned out. ;o
It also came with a nail remover polish pad, which was nice, because my previous polish had flakes and was tough to remove!
All in all, I really loved these polishes. I got a killer deal for intro, but even so, the regular price isn`t so bad for 2 polishes and a cuticle oil! The polishes retail for almost $15 USD, and the cuticle oil is about the same cost as well. I was really impressed with the colors and now I can`t wait to try some more. :)
