Jonathon Product Dirt Texturizing Paste

This is a product I received in last month`s Beauty Army kit, and I chose this particular sample because I`m constantly on the look out for new hair products to experiment with. I`ve never used a paste before. So I wanted to go ahead and try this thing out.

I`ve never heard of this brand or product until I saw it as one of my choices on the site, which is another reason I wanted to try it out. This is a hair texturizing paste that retails for $14 at Ulta for a 1.7 ounce bottle or $26 for a 3.35 ounce bottle. The sample I got is .7 ounces, but let me tell you, this is lasting me for a long WHILE. So do I think it`s worth the price? Yes.

This is a non-greasy, non-sticky, non-oily texturizing paste "infused with Lemongrass Essential Water adds manageability. Sweet almond protein helps repair all types of hair. White tea, almond, horsetail and nettle extracts nourish, stimulate and condition. A potent antioxidant blend of natural plant botanicals combined with a UV filter help protect hair and prevent color fading."

It works on both dry and damp hair for definition & separation to style to your desired effect.

It has a really nice, slim packaging, and pretty lightweight, which makes it travel friendly.

The first thing I noticed about this is its scent. It smells like coconut and vanilla combined. Yummy!

It looks like a candle without the wick, and it even feels like one too.

When you first try to scoop some product out with your fingers, it feels creamy, but hard, like wax. I REALLY had to dig in there to get anything out, but once you do that, it`s easy to get product out.

The first swatch felt thick and heavy. But you`re supposed to take a small amount between your fingers, and rub it together until it liquifies, which makes the product a lot more smoother and more manageable and easier to apply.

After the rubbing it into the skin a little, it becomes lighter, thinner, smoother, and creamier. Eventually, it disappears.

I`ve never used a paste. So I wasn`t sure what to expect. I`ve always just used hair sprays to hold up my hair, and give it volume. I have short pixie style hair. So I used this product more to define and separate my hair, and it gave me just the control and lift I needed without weighing it down.

The product worked well with my hair. It didn`t feel greasy or oily. I wore my hairstyle all day, and it held up really well. The scent never goes away. It just lingers there, which I really like!

One thing that surprised me with this product is that I was able to restyle my hair if I wanted to without washing out what I already had in my hair first (like I do with others). So I love its flexibility!

Another great thing about it is that a little goes a long way, and it truly works with any type of hair you may have. I have really short, thin hair, and it worked well for me. My sister used it too. She has extremely long (down to her lower back), thick hair, and she used this product to keep her curls in place. It worked really well for her too. She used the littlest amount as well (big plus).

As far as "nourishing" is concerned (like the product states it does), I didn`t notice it really do anything for my hair while the product was in or after I washed it out.

Overall, I`ve really been enjoying this texturizing paste, and use it regularly.

If you`re looking for a paste that gives you the hold, lift, and control you want to style your hair that lasts all day without weighing it down, and is a great value for the price, I`d highly recommend!

It`s also a plus if you LOVE vanilla scents like I do! :)
