A travesty is about to happen tomorrow. And that is the deadline for the New York Knicks to match the Houston Rockets offer of $25 for 3 years for Jeremy Lin.
There`s a lot of talk in the media about how the Knicks now will NOT match the offer. The reasons being is that
1) They still hope to get Chris Paul in a year
2) They don`t want to pay the Luxury Tax for being over the salary cap next to the tune of about 50+ Million
This was quite evident when the Knicks traded for Point Guard Felton Spencer who used to played for the Knicks but was traded away along with others for Amare Stoudamire. Felton is an average point guard at best. Is Jeremy Lin an above average point guard? Some feel that he is not and his stats last year was a fluke. And thus not worthy of the $25 Million over 3 years.
The other big news in the media is how much sporting goods stores like Modell would lose from Jeremy Lin Knicks merchandise. CLEARANCE SALE!
Talk the TALK
1) If your team had the chance to sign Jeremy Lin would you endorse it?
2) Have you ever bought a sports shirt of a player that later was traded or moved on? Who?
