Meow meow meow meow meow... !
ahem, sorry, I forgot not every human speaks Cat-anese. In the north part of Japan there is an island called Tashirojima which is "Cat Island". What are they known for? Guess...! C`mon!
Cats! The small island has a small population of mostly elderly people but even more cats. They`re well respected and not considered a nuisance on the island. There`s a cat shrine and the cats play an important role in keeping down the rat population in the fishing town.
When not too long ago there were the triple disaster in Japan, with Earthquake, Tsunami, and Nuclear meltdown, the island was checked by the emergency agency and found there were no major destruction or death given the proximity.
The only way to get to the island is via ferry from the town of Ishinomaki if you ever want to visit.
Talk the TALK
1) Are you a cat person?
2) Would you ever want to visit Tashirojima?
