So many things happen today I can`t keep up with all the events. But the most anticipated race today for me was the women 100m final.
Why? Well it is the first time a female sprinter from my country made it to the finals! It was amazing that Kelly Ann Baptiste made it to the finals because she was nursing an achilles heel injury.
Anyways, I knew either Jeter or Fraser-Pryce was going to win it and trust me it was a close one! Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica who won the gold in 100m in Beijing, did it again!
I swear these women are so fast. Fraser-Pryce won in a time of 10.75 seconds while America`s Jeter clocked in 10.78.The second Jamaican runner Veronica Campbell Brown came in third place.
My country`s representative came in 6th but we were still proud. I am happy the Jamaicans won...we celebrate when other Caribbean nations get medals.
The men`s semis and finals are tomorrow and I am excited to see what Usain Bolt does, but I am hoping my country can get a medal.
Do you like Track and field?
Are you surprised the Jamaicans won?
