I love jajangmyun =) It`s usually a Korean dish of broad noodles served with pork and onions in a black bean sauce.
At most Korean restaurants I go to, they have this listed under Chinese-Korean cuisine, though I`m not sure why as I always thought this was a Korean dish.
The pork is generally cut into cubes and marinated in the black bean sauce. Then, fried onions are added to it and more black bean sauce along with some sugar to give it a nice sweet and savory taste. The sauce itself is very savory, which is why they give you some cucumbers and a lot of white noodles.
As the dish is very thick, they always provide you with a pair of scissors so you can cut the noodles and then eat them.
I usually order jajangmyun for $7 and it lasts me 2 good meals as the portion size is huge.
Have you tried this?
