Isla del Sol means island of the sun. It is an island located in Bolivia on the southern part of Lake Titicaca which is the largest lake in South America. The terrain here is harsh as it is rocky and hilly and there are no paved roads. The rocky trails here are used by the local Aymara community and also link to over 80 pre-Inca and Inca ruins. The economy is supported by farming, fishing and tourism. I am not sure if I`d be able to live in a place that has no roads since the main form of transportation is probably by foot and some areas you probably wouldn`t even be able to bike to and from.
Have you ever visited a place without roads?
If so where was it?
Have you ever visited any Inca/Mayan ruins? Where?
