I just finished my first week of Insanity! It is supposed to be the hardest fitness program ever put on DVD. There are 10 workout discs with plyometric drills on top of nonstop intervals of strength, power, resistance, and ab and core training moves. No equipment or weights needed.
MAX Interval Training keeps you constantly challenged as you alternate between aerobic and anaerobic intervals performed at your MAX. The result: burn up to 1,000 calories in an hour.
Ok, so this is HARD! I had been exercising pretty regularly with the Turbo Fire series but had taken about 3 months off so that may have been why this week was so hard! The first day of Insanity if a Fit Test. Shaun T has you run through exercises and you have to as many as you can within a set amount of time. Then you record this number and revisit the Fit Test every 2 weeks. It is a 60 day program. The first week was fun because there are so many dvd`s and a set schedule so I didn`t get bored because of the variety. The best way to describe this is like middle or high school P.E. class or training for athletics. Drills, fast paced, high cardio, pushups. It is hard and will get your heart rate up no matter how fit you are.
If you want weekly updates on this program, comment below and I will keep you up to date as I complete Insanity!
