Infant Health: Breast Pump for Breastfeeding

Another thing I picked up for my daughter who should be arriving within the next 2 weeks is a breast pump so that she may have breast milk. I am huge fan of breastfeeding. I breast fed my son and I look forward to breastfeeding my daughter. I feel that it is one of the many great things I can do to care for my babies and I will very likely breastfeed all of my children (if we decide to have any more).

However, when I breastfed my son a couple of years ago it was all new to me and I didnt really know what I was doing. So I ended up allowing him to become too attached to the breast and therefore he never wanted to drink from a bottle. It was difficult and I ended up having to stay home for a year and not work because my son wouldnt drink a bottle and allow me the time to work. So this time, I know to introduce the bottle very early so that she knows that milk comes from both. That was definitely a valuable lesson in life.

So I picked up a new breast pump since I ended up tossing out the old one I had. I read a ton of great reviews on the Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump so I decided to buy it. I had pretty good experiences with my last manual breast pump by Medela and since I was reading a lot of reviews saying that this one was even better than the one I had I decided to pick it up. It cost me only $35.00 from Kmart which was a bit more expensive than the Medela one I had before but I think thats ok for a really good manual breast pump. Especially seeing how much I could be spending on formula.

So, Im gonna try this out once my daughter is born and see how well it works. Ill do a review on it for all of you expecting mommies out there that may be interested.

Thanks for checking this out ladies!!
