I`m losing pounds but not inches. What`s wrong?

I am writing this post as an overview from an article I read, link below.

You can be losing pound but not inches because lack of strength training or lack of protein. Either you can pick up weights or add protein mix to smoothie after workout. "Each option yields about 40 grams of protein, the amount you need to lose fat while preserving metabolism-revving muscle."
