Hey everyone! It`s my first post here, so I hope that you enjoy it.
After an exam yesterday, I decided to hit the mall with a friend. I`ve been trying to save money for a post-graduation trip, so I didn`t buy too much.
I ended up with 5 things:
The first item is a pair of lace trim Perfect PINK boyshorts from Victoria`s Secret in a navy and white stripe design with navy trim. I don`t really have much to say besides the fact that I think they`re cute and comfy!
I got a bottle of China Glaze`s "Electrify" which, for those of you that may not know, is part of a collaboration with The Hunger Games (SEVEN MORE DAYS) in a collection called "Capitol Colours". I`ve been stalking the colours in this collection for months. I made myself pick one colour, promising to go back for a set of 4 smaller bottles later if I got an A on my exam. I decided to go with "Electrify" because, if anything, this is the definitive colour of the series: girl on fire. As you can tell from the picture, I`m already wearing it and I LOVE it. From a distance, it looks very much like a gold colour, but upon closer inspection, you can definitely see the flecks of red glitter. This colour is great because you can double layer it (like me) for a glitter only look or you can pair it with a complimentary colour like the red Revlon in the shoplinks and put one layer of "Electrify" on it for some glitz.
The next two pieces of jewelry are from Forever 21. I`m a fan of dangly earrings and I really liked the dangling silver, gold, and black triangles. I feel like they`re casual enough for daily wear, but when paired with the right top, they could definitely be used for a night out or for business casual. The necklace, on the other hand, is strictly for casual wear. This is actually a gift for my little sister and very age appropriate for her. However, for those of us that aren`t in elementary school anymore, this necklace would go with a very springy or summery outfit to add that touch of whim.
Finally, my crowning purchase for the day (besides the nail polish) is this halter top from The Limited. No, that`s not me in the picture (though I wish). It came in two designs - this brown striped one and a yellow one with a brown flower print on it. I thought the yellow one was a cuter design, but the brown one looked better on me. Go figure. Again, like the earrings, this top is extremely versatile. Pair it with some jeans for a cute but classy look. You could also wear it with a cardigan and black dress pants for day in the office or with a body-hugging skirt for night out. It`s soft and machine washable, so care is minimal. Because it`s so soft though, I`d still stick it in a delicates bag first!
I didn`t buy too much, but I`m in that happy place where I don`t feel guilty about spending the money and yet, I`m happy with what I`ve got!
