Following the press release of the new Samsung s4, I have to admit I was quite disappointed with Samsung. Despite some new technology and features I felt as though the s4 wasn`t much of an upgrade from the s3.

Watching the CNET video after the live coverage of the samsung s4 release, which displayed the s4 in comparison to a few other new smartphones, there was one phone that caught my eye. After a bit of research I found more information about this new phone and I am in love!

This is the latest release from HTC which apparently should be hitting stores at the end of this month or in April/May. It is called the HTC One (not to be confused with the HTC One X).

According to HTC this new phone is a combination of features from other smartphones. For example, they have taken the tile display design from the Windows phone and turned it in what they call `Blinkfeed` where you can select live newsfeed/social media display on your homescreen. It also runs android jellybean.

What sets this phone apart however is its beats audio front speakers (which speaks for itself) and its camera. HTC have created a camera that allows more light in to create better pictures. You can read for yourself the reviews and comparisons online, but what also caught me was the fact that it has the same feature as Samsung s4, where you can use both front and back camera at the same time!

I love the design of the phone and the front display. I`ve always liked how the windows phone has its home page organised in tiles, but never liked their design. But the HTC one is exactly what I have been looking for.

The cons to this phone I have read about are the fact that the battery isn`t removable (like the iphone it has an internal battery) and there`s no expandable memory.

For my personal tastes however, the pros outweigh the cons for me. At the moment I`m using the old HTC desire (yes, more reason to upgrade) and as long as the phone design looks good and all my social media and messages work, and the camera quality is good, then I`m happy.
