Pad Thai is definitely one of my favourite dishes to eat of all time. There are not many Thai restaurants where I live, but my favourite Thai restaurant (that belongs to my friends Mother) has been sold. Its still open, but different cooks and owners run it. So its not the same Pad Thai that her Mom makes. :(
So I decided to try test my cooking skills again by making my very first Pad Thai. For those of you who read my previous post about my first time making pasta, youd know that I cant cook ha. But since I am trying to improve my cooking stills one step at a time, I decided to cook something a bit harder. Well at least in my opinion.
What I used:
-Asian noodles (no idea what they are called), but they are the flat and thicker noodles.
-Pre-made Pad Thai sauce (since I dont know have the spices and ingredients used to make the sauce)
-A bit of spicy sauce
I am quite pleased at how this dish turned out. It sure was delicious I must say, especially it was my first time making it. But it cant compare to my friends Moms Pad Thai. Maybe I should drop by her house again sometime so I can taste authentic Thai food. The oil still scares me, but I am getting better at not running away each time I hear or see it splat.
Do you like Pad Thai? Have you tried making it before?
