I am writing this post as an overview from an article I read, link below. Best time to eat a good meal is after workout because it is when your body is recovering from the lost calories. As well your metabolism is extremely high. Proteins are good to eat and fiber like beans and whole food is good because fiber helps you feel satiated.
One key that I would say to watch out for is over eating. We may think we worked out a sweat so we burned tons of calories but it may not have been much so still portion control will be a good idea.
