I purchased this lip balm for $5 at a local vegan/vegetarian shoe store. I didn`t end up getting any shoes, but this lip balm caught my eye, as I had heard lots of good things about it. It`s advertised as all natural, organic, vegan, and raw. It contains grapefruit and alkanet infused sweet almond oil, candelilla wax, coconut oil, jojoba oil, cocoa butter, castor oil, olive oil, grapefruit essential oil, and vitamin E. It`s cold-pressed, so it is indeed raw.
Although I am not really concerned whether or not my lip balm is raw, I do like that it`s organic and vegan. I love my beeswax lip balm (i.e., Burt`s Bees!), but it`s nice to change things up every now and then. This lip balm is very soft, and feels really smooth and nourishing on the lips. It doesn`t really taste of grapefruit (which was kind of disappointing for me), but it does smell like it. The applicator/stick is in an oval shape instead of a standard round shape, which I kind of like.
After trying this lip balm, I`ve decided that I do like it, but am not really sure that I`d spend $5 on another one. I like the packaging, and the balm itself has a nice feel to it, but I prefer lip balms that have some sort of a flavour to them (e.g., mint, cherry...etc.). Maybe the other varieties have a stronger flavour to them? I did spot a chocolate one...so maybe I will end up buying another, just to see. XD
