I finally got to go to a landmark restaurant yesterday. They are famous for serving many variaties of pastas in HUGE portions with good prices. Everytime I pass by the place, they always have a long lineup outside of the store. I didn`t go in then because I really hate waiting outdoors in the cold wind. Yesterday, I finally decided I should try the place. It`s almost like a bucket list thing that I just needed to check off.
As ususal, the lineup was very long when we got there yesterday. Surprisingly though, the turnover was really fast and we were able to get a table within 20 minutes. The majority of the menu was pasta dishes. We felt very overwhelmed because there were just so many choices. It literally took half an hour for us to decide what to order. I got rigatoni with mushrooms and artichoke in a creamy tomato sauce. My other friends order seafood linguine in white sauce, spicy sausage penne in tomato sauce, fettucini with blue cheese, and another dish of which I can`t remember the name. We were adviced by a friend who`s been here before to not eat the bread to save our stomachs for the pasta. When the pasta came, they looked like little mountains. We shared our pasta family-style just to get a taste. After we were all very full and sleepy from too much food, the pasta looked like they`ve never even been touched. We had to get doggy bags to take home the leftovers, which were really heavy.
I`m really happy that I finally got to try this restaurant that I`ve been wanting to go for ages. But I don`t think I`ll go again, or eat pasta anytime soon, since I think it`ll take at least 3-4 meals to finish the leftovers. I`m sure that after finishing it, I`ll be sick of pasta for a while.
