I think I shop more for clothes over the course of Spring than I do for any other season. Is it just me or do many of you tend to do that as well?
This past Saturday, my husband and I decided to head out to the Walnut Creek shopping center (which is one of our favorite places to shop), to get some sun, have some lunch and do a little bit of shopping. I had a few gift cards to stores such as Barnes & noble, H & M and The Container Store that I wanted to use up so I kind of looked at it as a guilt free shopping day (not that I ever feel super guilty about the things I buy because they are usually really inexpensive).
The Walnut Creek H & M has far more to choose from than the nearest H & M to my house but it`s also more crowded as well. I had been on the hunt for a crisp white blazer and saw that they had just came out with a new one for their conscious collection (which I love). Most of their nicer blazer are at least $35-$60 but this one was only $29.95. I also had a 20% off coupon that was recently emailed to me so I only had to pay a little under $25 for it which I thought was a steal considering that the blazers in their divided (more affordable) line go for about that much. During this H & M shopping trip I also picked up a really cute navy blue and white striped tank top. I know I have mentioned this before but H & M makes my favorite tank tops. This one is 50% organic cotton which was a plus and it was only $7.95. I think this would look so cute with a pair of white or red shorts.
About a week or so ago, during the time two of my younger sisters stayed the week with us, we took them to the mall because one of them really wanted to get some new shoes (she`s a shopaholic just like me and she is only 15). Of course I had to stop at H & M really quick especially since I saw that one of the manikins at the window was wearing a really cute pair of mint colored cropped pants. I found my size and purchased them without trying them on. I also purchased a goldtone necklace that I showed in my latest jewelry haul.
I had told my sister that I had scored a lot of good deals at PacSun so she wanted to go and check them out. We didn`t find much this time and all I purchased was a pair of red pants with zippers. These are very much like the liquid leggings I had picked up but for some reason these run larger even though they are from the same brand.
Staying with the red theme, I also purchased a cute pair of nautical like red high waisted shorts from a store called Susie`s deals. I think these shorts will look really cute with the striped top. If you have never heard of Susie`s deals its a discount store with a bunch of clothing items that come from stores such as Forever 21, Wet Seal, Macy`s etc. They sell their clothing items for much much less. You can find a bunch of tops for as low as $2.99. These shorts were only $4.99.
I hadn`t been to a thrift store since the last time I post a thrift store haul so when we passed by a goodwill store that had a sale sign outside I told my husband we should go check them out. I normally do not like shopping at Goodwill because all their clothing is pretty unorganized and their stores are usually fairly small, not to mention expensive for thrift stores. I don`t know how they think they can sell an old ugly blazer for $15 when you can find brand new ones for a little over that. I prefer shopping at Thrift Town but since the closest one to me is over 45 minutes away I am stuck with Goodwill if I ever feel the urge to do some thrifting. They did however have a 50% off sale on Saturday so I wanted to go check them out. I ended up getting two things, a really cute H & M striped wrap dress for $4.99 and a denim jacket which I turned into a vest for only $3.50. Originally these two items were $9.99 and $6.99 which I think is insane for second hand clothing or maybe it`s because I am so used to seeing everything under $5 at my favorite thrift store.
The last clothing items I have here to show you are two high low skirts. The high low trend is my favorite trend this season. I kind of think of these skirts as a more conservative alternative to mini skirts because although its short in the front its long in the back. It`s also a great alternative for those of you who feel like you are too short for maxi dresses because this is the best of both worlds....a maxi dress and a mini skirt all in one. The black one is from eBay which I ordered a few weeks ago for about $11 + free shipping http://www.ebay.com/itm/180850927858?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 The only problem is that this skirt is smaller than I thought. The listing stated that this would fit sizes small to medium but I think it`s more like extra small to small. I can probably still wear it but I think the elastic part might be uncomfortable but we will see. The blush colored max skirt is from Forever 21. I am obsessed with this color and had been looking for a skirt this color ever since I saw Evelina Barry wear one in one of her amazing styling videos (she is one of my favorite fashion gurus on YT). Here is the video I am talking about, it`s amazing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-11r7W9i28U I believe it`s the same skirt she is wearing because she got hers from F21 as well =)
Last but not least I picked up two books from Barnes and Noble. Is it sad that my favorite section at Barnes and noble is their teen section? I don`t think they should call that section Teen fiction, it should be more like young adult because that will make me feel less strange. But I am sure I am not the only one who enjoys these types of books....are you going to tell me none of you ever read Twilight? Or Pretty little liars....Hmmm... lol. I had been wanting to pick up the Hunger Games book for quite some time now and I finally did. I know I am super super late on this but I wanted to read the book before watching the movie. Because I remember reading watching Twilight for the first time and not really understanding it until I read the book. From Barnes and Noble I also picked up Style by Lauren Conrad which I had been wanting for forever. I took this book with me yesterday when my husband and I went to the lake to do some fishing and I probably read like 50 pages during the few hours we were there. It`s such a good well put together and informative book. I know a lot of the stuff in the book is common sense but there are a few things I didn`t know. I think this book is a must have for anyone who loves fashion and makeup.
