How to Wear Vintage

The great thing about is its versatility and ability to create a look thats completely individual. A lot of the fashion on the high street and online is very alike and it can sometimes be difficult to create a style thats personal. Vintage gives us so much more choice, with fashion that spans several decades. To create an individual look, without looking like you come from the wrong era, it can be incredibly simple. Try mixing and matching vintage clothing with on-trend fashion for an individual twist on a new trend. You can do this by combining vintage dresses with this seasons must-have wedges or even biker boots, for a rock chick edge on cooler days. Vintage denim also works well with slouchy jersey tees and wedge trainers to channel the spring/summer sport-luxe trend. The key to this look is to choose a new season trend from the catwalks and interpret it in your own way. And vintage clothing can be just as on-trend as any new fashion from the high street, as most trends have been in and out of fashion for decades. Take paisley for example, a hit for spring/summer but it was popular way back in the 70s. Look through vintage boutiques and websites for paisley maxi dresses and pair them with leather accessories for a hot boho vibe. Other pieces to look out for this spring/summer that will take you right through to next season are prints, ranging from novelty sweatshirts to sophisticated monochrome, and peplums which were a huge hit in the 80s (probably to balance out those shoulders!). Both of these trends were seen all over the autumn/winter catwalks, and are well worth investing in if youd like a spring/summer wardrobe that can be adapted for the cooler months. So if you opt to wear vintage clothing this season, remember to channel new trends in old styles and combine vintage with new. Its all about mixing it up, to create a look thats individual to you. fashion style
