so i`ve been looking around on some nail blogs and there`s this trend of "frankening" going around - making your own polish!
At first I thought it would be a lot of work, but it`s actually fairly easy! Plus you can double your nail polish collection just by using 50% of a bottle you already own, and adding other colours, glitter, flakies, or whatever you like for it.
So when the Essie Luxeffects collection came out, I really wanted As Gold As It Gets, but I didn`t end up getting it. So I decided to make my own!
<strong>Supplies I Used:</strong>
one bottle of clear nail polish
10 large drops of a gold/brown polish
<strong>How to Make It:</strong>
1. Empty out about 1/4 of the bottle of clear polish
2. Put in about 10 big drops of the coloured polish, add more for more opacity
3. Shake very well.
4. Add glitter (CAUTION: pour glitter a little bit at a time. It takes a while to sink, so all of it will end up sitting on the top of the polish and your bottle will overfill. Just put in a bit, put on the lid and shake, and repeat)
5. Shake very well again!
6. Paint it on a nail swatch wheel or your nails to see if you like it, if not, alter it by adding more glitter, polish, etc.
It`s not quite the same as As Gold As It Gets, but I didn`t pay a single penny for it!
In the photo, I have it layered over Sally Hansen Black Out, and I think it`s cute!
What do you guys think of this idea?
