Every once in a while, all I want is a good breakfast sandwich. I usually wake up too late to get one from McDonald`s on the weekends and I get up too early to want to get one during the week... so I make my own! Here, I`ll show you how to make a yummy breakfast sandwich using things found in your own kitchen :)
1. Defrost and Cut Your Bagel
I keep my bagels and bread in the freezer to make them last longer, so I need to defrost mine a bit before I cut them in half (see picture 2). Make sure your bagel is sliced and ready for the next step!
2. Place Cheese On Bagel
On one side of your sliced bagel, put a slice of cheese. I use provolone cheese (see picture 3) because it goes well with the onion bagel and melts easily. All you really need is just one slice!
3. Toast Your Bagel
Place your bagel with the cheese on one side in the toaster. Depending on your toaster oven, you`ll most likely need the light to medium setting. You want your bagel to be nice and golden brown and the cheese to be melted.
4. Cook Your Sausage
While your bagel is toasting, cook your sausage. I use Banquet`s Brown `N Serve turkey sausage, so all I need to do to mine is microwave it. I use three sausage links because three fit my bagel perfectly, but you may need more or less depending on the size of your bagel. You want enough to cover the whole bagel.
5. Put Your Sandwich Together
When your bagel is toasted and your sausage is cooked, it`s time to construct your sandwich! Place your sausage on the side of the bagel with the cheese, then apply the other half of the bagel. You now have a delicious breakfast sandwich! Yum!
6. Eat and Enjoy!
Revel in your food victory and eat your yummy breakfast goodness. Enjoy!!
Let me know if you include anything else on your breakfast sandwich, like eggs or syrup!
