Every holiday season, I like to make little gifts for the school children I work with to take home and enjoy. This means finding a way to turn out over 100 gifts/goodies. On a budget, this can be quite difficult, but I always find a way! It`s a great method if you have a lot of coworkers, children in your family that you might see over the holidays, kids that you work or interact with, or just want to do a good deed and spread some holiday cheer.

1. Buy Goodie/Treat Bags
Around the holiday season, the Dollar Tree becomes my best friend. It`s the dollar store where everything in the store is actually $1, so if I need to buy a lot of things for crafting or gifts, this is the place I go! They always have goodie/treat bags around the holidays with holiday/wintery images on them and I was lucky enough this year to find them in packs of 25 for just $1. I needed 100 bags so I only had to spend $4 for them - not too bad!
2. Include a Toy or Item
Now, finding 100 little toys or items on the cheap isn`t easy, but the dollar store (and even places like walmart or target) offer some viable options. Because I interact with school kids, I decided to include a pencil in each goodie bag. Again, the Dollar Tree was a great option because they had packs of 12 holiday pencils for $1 each. Pencils may seem lame, but I know from previous experience that the students actually do use them once they receive them! :)
3. Fill With Candy
Candy is one of those things that can get sneakily expensive... I used the Dollar Tree and Walmart for candy options and was able to include 4 different types of candy in each bag: mini candy-canes, hard candies, peppermint patties, and holiday Hershey kisses.
4. Tie off With Ribbon
To make each bag extra festive, I take the time to tie and curl ribbon around each goodie bag. I just buy the holiday ribbon reams for $1 at the dollar store and alternate the colors I use on the bags. They add an extra touch of holiday spirit!
Bulk goodie bags like these are an easy and inexpensive way to make and give lots of holiday gifts/treats to a large mass of people. They`re so customizable and the options are endless! I can`t wait to give these to the students I work with next week before they go on winter break! :)
