One of the comment I often get is that I look younger than my age. On the picture above, I was 15 on the left. On the right side, that is me now at 35. See any difference? Maybe it`s not obvious on the pictures but I won`t get too much into the details.
I`ve been quite fortunate that I didn`t really have any skin problem. The only thing I can honestly say that I noticed since then is that I have a little more hyperpigmentation on my cheeks. Other than that, uneven complexion would be my other issue but I think many of us have that issue as well.
Sometimes people ask me how I do it. I honestly don`t really do anything special and what I`m about to tell you is probably nothing new but I can share some of the stuff I do...
Take care of your skin. The best defense against aging is preventing it: therefore, it`s never too early for you to start and it`s actually more beneficial if you get a head start on it. Your best investment would be skincare and proper skincare regiment. Different products work differently depending on your skin type.
What I typically do is moisturize my skin twice a day, morning and night. Thoroughly remove my makeup at night and cleanse. Exfoliate regularly. Other things I like to use are facial masks. If you can afford or don`t mind paying for facials, I think they are beneficial too.
I use eye creams religiously! Don`t fail to do this because the first signs of aging starts with your eyes.
Don`t frown too much or laugh too hard, LOL. These facial expressions will create unwanted lines on your face. That`s no joke so try to be a bit more self-concious about it.
Take special care of your skin if you are going to be exposed to the sun for long periods. Use higher SPF lotions, wear a hat, do whatever it takes to minimize exposure. This is why I prefer to look pale, lol.
Take care of your body. Drink lots of water. Stay active. And eat a balanced diet. On a side note, I`m a fail when it comes to diet but we all know how important it is...yea yea, I`m not giving up ice cream or chocolate.
Don`t do drugs, smoke, or drink alcohol excessively. If you abuse or neglect your body, it`s going to take a toll on you and ultimately, you are going to end up looking older than you really are.
Manage your stress. Yes, take control of it. Stress can make you age faster and make you more vulnerable for illnesses.
Get your beauty rest. You will look more refreshed.
I don`t know about others but long hair actually makes me look younger. I`ve had short hair before and I look 10 years older with it. Probably because shorter hair looks more mature and sophisticated. I keep my hair long, plain, and simple. Works for me because I don`t like to spend a lot of time messing with it.
Choose a style that is trendy and works for you. If you keep your style up-to-date, you are less likely to look older than you really are, lol. If that makes sense.
Have fun or make it fun! It keeps us feeling young.
And lastly, it`s not about how old you look, it`s about how young you feel. If you keep a youthful attitude, you are less likely to come across as old and boring.
I think I covered most of it. I`m pretty sure you heard it all.
I don`t mind getting old, although I am a little worried about what comes with it, and I`m not talking about wrinkles.
I`m curious to hear about how you keep yourself young or if aging is a concern to you?
