Hi everyone! As much as I love makeup and everything, the part I dread the most is cleaning my brushes. I have a very large collection of brushes so the idea of cleaning all of them at once is daunting. However, I have found a couple products that make the task more enjoyable.
>> Brush Cleaning Jar by Loew Cornell from Michael`s <<
I actually posted about this product a long time ago, but have recently re-discovered this item, so it`s worth a mention again. This jar is actually used to clean paint off paintbrushes, but what are makeup brushes but paintbrushes for the face? Included with the jar is a sponge that fits nicely at the bottom with a spongy blue side and a side covered with brush bristles. What I do is add water and the soap featured in the pictures until it covers the bristles, then I rub my makeup brushes against these bristles, which helps dislodge the makeup.
>> Dr. Bronner`s Magic Soap in `Almond` <<
This stuff is amazing! I actually bought this huge bottle just for the purpose of cleaning my brushes, but it can be used as body wash, hand wash, shampoo and for general cleaning purposes. The almond smell is amazing and the oils in the soap help to remove makeup from brushes in much the same way oil-based makeup removers dissolve makeup on the face. You don`t need too much when washing your brushes so the 32oz. bottle will probably last forever. I found the 32oz bottles at Bed Bath and Beyond for $11, which is pretty cheap considering the size. The one I purchased was from Target, also 32oz, but $14 or something.
Thanks for reading! What do you use to clean your brushes?
