If you have that desire to try new ways to build a welcoming environment, and capitalizing on sustainability, the project was born of a guesthouse in San Antonio, Texas (USA), pieced together in a shipping container.
While this is a guest house and a refuge for the family to spend a sunny afternoon, the dimensions of the house does not exceed 30 square meters in size. It is, however, fully functional and comfortable, complete with air conditioning and shower.
Sustainability, in fact, is the keyword behind each design element. The green roof provides much of the thermal comfort, and is irrigated with reused water from the sink and shower. The container rests on a "foundation" of recycled telephone poles, lighting and deck are made with disc plow, common in southern Texas.
A good idea and much cheaper for a holiday home for example, is not it?
