One of the most luxurious products Ive come across has to be the Hourglass Nº28 Primer Serum ($65 USD / $75 CAD). With a hefty price tag, this anti-aging and hydrating primer & oil-blend serum plumps skin with moisture, evens out pores and preps skin for makeup.
The 28 in the product name refers to the formulas key ingredients, including essential oils, plant oils and vitamins. One thing is for sure, a little goes a long way with this product (half a pump will do you fine). Its incredibly hydrating; so much so that its probably one of the heaviest, oiliest things Ive ever put on my face.
It feels fantastic and leaves my skin feeling silky soft, but I think Im going to tuck this away until the cooler winter months, because giving an extra dose of oils to my skin isnt exactly my top priority in the summer. I havent broken out from the product, which seems like a miracle to me, but I would still only recommend it for those with normal to dry skin because it is so heavily moisturizing.
I would compare it to a heavier version of my beloved CoverFX SkinPrep FX. It helps create a nice base for makeup to go on smoothly, but Im not sure if it really helped my makeup to last longer throughout the day.
