In Germany, there are rooms, and other conventional cell. The only difference is that guests `prisoners` may leave whenever they want.
A prison in the city of Kaiserslautern was transformed into the Hotel Alcatraz, the first hotel-prison in Germany. This innovative hotel unit allows guests to have a small feeling of being trapped. Small, because they have the possibility to leave whenever they want to drink champagne in a bar, or even talk.
The hotel was built in a former prison that operated since 1867. It offers 75 rooms, or cell style, the 4th or conventional, there are clerestory windows, real beds in prison and massive steel doors. As in a real prison ... the toilet is not separate from the bedroom.
Should be a holiday a bit strange, no?
