People say breakfast is the most important meal of the day.. and that is true since it kicks start your metabolism and keeps you burning calories all day. So that is why I took the time tonight to bake some yummy and healthy muffins for my breakfast tomorrow before school.
If your in a rush like me in the morning (I have ~30-40 min. to get ready before my bus comes), then you know how hard it is to eat a healthy breakfast. I usually end up going to school and buying some unhealthy muffins. Now I`ve decided to take it upon myself and make muffins for myself before hand. Now I can be healthy and even save myself $1.25 each day!
To make the muffins I used -
a cup of oatmeal
1/2 cup egg whites
1 tablespoon butter
1/3 cup applesauce
I mixed everything together and put them in the muffin tins and then let them bake. When they came out, they smelled so good! To add some sweetness to the muffins, I used honey and just glazed it over the top. It makes the muffins taste so much better and it makes them look better too! These muffins were so good that I can`t believe they are healthy. The applesauce replaces the need for all the butter and extra fat.
