I made this cake a few weeks ago and loved the final outcome. I followed a simple recipe from online and the cake was very easy to make. It took 1 hour to make and I used strawberry jam and butter cream to make the filling. I dusted icing on top and served it with squirty dairy cream. The cake was a hit with my family and finished in less than 20 minutes.
225g/8oz butter or margarine, softened at room temperature
225g/8oz caster sugar
4 medium eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
225g/8oz self raising flour
milk, to loosen
