Homemade: Taiwanese minced pork w. cabbage

I made this really easy recipe with minced meat (taiwanese style) but I added cabbage because I don`t feel like cooking additional entree. It taste pretty good with it too since I cooked too spicy on the meat. lol.

1 lb ground pork (or the meat of your choice)
1 onion
few cloves of minced garlic (depends on you, i added alot)
1/2 cabbage/nappa (sliced)
3 tbsp cooking wine (i added more than that =x)
1/2 cup light soy sauce (becareful adding might be too satly)
2 tbsp sugar
2 cup pork broth or water
1 tsp black pepper
2~3 star anise (i like it stronger flavor, you can add 1 if you like)
1 tsp five spice powder
1 red chili (for spicier add more than 2) I used 2
1 cup of fried shallot (optional, gives it more flavor tho)
few scallions for garnish

-On a heavy skillet, add 1 tbsp of cooking oil and cook the garlic & onions till soft.
-Then add minced pork and cook over high heat.
-Stir the pork gently and constantly for about 4 minutes or until the pork turns slightly brown.
-Make sure your skillet is hot enough so you dont lose the juice from the meat.
-Add broth/water and mix in the five spice powder, star anise, light soy sauce, cooking wine, black pepper, and sugar.
-Bring to boil and simmer over low heat for about 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.
-Add fried shallot and red chili to the meat sauce after 30 mins of simmering. Add salt if necessary.
-Add in nappa or cabbage and continue to simmer for another 20 minutes. Thicken the meat sauce with some corn starch.
-Serve the meat sauce over cooked rice or noodles.
-Garnish with chopped scallion.
