Homemade Sugar Wax Anyone?

So as the title tells all, homemade sugar wax- and yes I did attempt this. And the results? Swell, the product I mean.

I made this four months ago, following this recipe from http://about.com: http://hairremoval.about.com/od/sugarwaxing/ss/sugar-hair-removal-recipe.htm. And I just let it sit there because I was scared to use it, I mean look at it, it`s frightening, no? The instructions were very clear (see: http://hairremoval.about.com/od/sugarwaxing/ss/how-to-sugar.htm).

Yesterday, I decided to grow a pair and just do it. To my surprise, it was easy to use.
The Pros: It is made of part sugar and a mixture of water and lemon juice so it is easily removed--just wash with warm water. It works, period. It`s kind of fun to use, a bit like playing with sticky playdoh. It is easy to make and stores well.
The Cons: Sticky. Yes that is my only con, but it is to be expected when using a wax product.

I cannot emphasize enough how great it is that the wax can be so easy to wash off. (I got it on some towels and just rinsed them and ta da!) By the way, my underarms are super smooth now. Just putting that out there.

Bottom line, if you want to save some money on waxing, make your own. It is simple to make, easy to use and clean and cheap (using household items)! If you do try it, please let me know if you were as successful as I was. :)
