Hello Luuuxers! Today I want to tell you about homemade sugar wax!
Homemade sugar wax is the BEST in my opinion. I used to get my arms waxed in salons, but it would always hurt so much. Plus, that stuff is so hard to take off if it sticks on your skin. I decided to try a water soluble wax at home. I searched around the internet for it and I found a recipe for homemade sugar wax! All that`s in it is sugar, lemon juice, and water! It works so well AND the hair grows back less!
2 cups sugar
¼ cup lemon juice
¼ cup water
Combine all the ingredients in a sauce pan and heat it on a low-medium heat. It helps if you have a candy thermometer. Heat it up until it gets to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. It will be a dark brown color. Make sure you keep stirring it while it is heating. After it`s done, there are two ways to use it. You can use it as a regular warm wax with cotton or muslin strips, or you can use it cold as a hard wax using your hand.
For this method, the skin needs to be at least 1/4" long. If the wax has cooled down, warm it up in the microwave in 15 second increments until it is the consistency of honey. Prepare your skin by dusting a little bit of baby powder or cornstarch on it and spreading it on your skin. Then, with a popsicle stick, spread a bit of the wax onto your skin, in the direction of your hair growth. Put your cotton or muslin strip onto the wax and rub a few times. Then, hold your skin taught and remove against the direction of the hair growth. Repeat! Once finished, you can easily clean your skin of excess wax. Since this formula is water soluble, you can just wash your skin with water! It will come right off!
Body Sugaring Method:
This method removes hair as short as 1/16". Prep the skin with baby powder or corn starch. After letting it cool down for a bit, take some of the wax in your hand. If made right, it shouldn`t be very sticky. Take the sugar wax and roll it into a ball in your hand. This will make it less sticky, and it will warm up the wax with your body heat. Apply the sugar ball on your skin AGAINST the growth of the hair. This is tricky, because it has to be flush against the skin. Pull it slightly on your skin. You may have to go over it with your hand a few times.
This is the tricky part. Hold your skin taut and in short flicking motions, flick your hand in the SAME direction of the hair growth. Don`t aim your hand up, but towards the other side of the skin. Do this a few times until all the of the sugar is off your skin. For the paste that is left on your skin, just repeat. Spread some paste on your skin and remove with short flicking motions.

Let me know how this works out for everyone! I hope this helps!
