My boyfriend and I literally spent two hours making our dinner from scratch with the exception of the pesto tortellini & spaghetti sauce (those were purchased from Trader Joe`s but we had to cook them!). We bought organic chicken breasts from Costco, washed the breasts throughly, sliced the breasts thinner, marinate with chicken seasoning, garlic powder, olive oil, soy sauce & pepper, then chilled in the fridge for 30 minutes prior to grilling. While the chicken was marinating, we washed the fruits (blueberries & strawberries), cut the strawberries and made ourselves smoothies! Then, we made our salad - washed the salad (even though it`s pre-washed), cut avocado, and diced tomatoes. Then, while my boyfriend was grilling the chicken on the George Foreman Grill, I heated up the Pesto Tortellini on the stove and heated up the spaghetti sauce!
What`s in our salad?
- Sliced avocado
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Grilled chicken breasts
- Diced tomatoes
- Organic Spring Mix
- Cheese & Garlic Croutons (these are delicious, I highly recommend then and I will be repurchasing for sure!)
- Romano Caesar Dressing (sweet but also delicious!)
- Topped with sliced almonds
Overall: Even though it took my boyfriend and I - 2 hours, we had a great time in the kitchen (team work!) We`re still beginners so we`ll get the hang of cooking eventually.
