The other day my friends and I really wanted some peking duck, but since we`re all broke college students we don`t exactly have that kind of money, we decided to make our own. Of course it didn`t turn out the same, but it was still pretty tasty. You can`t really go wrong with roast duck, buns, spring onions, and hoisin sauce.

We headed over to an asian bbq place and ordered a whole duck since it was more worth it than buying half of one. We also went over to the local asian market and picked up some buns. Once we got back to my friend`s apartment, we started making our dinner. We ripped the meat and skin off the bone and put it in the buns. We topped it off with a bit of spring onions and hoisin sauce. It left us all very full and we still had a bunch of duck left over.

I still would love some authentic Peking duck, especially the real deal from Beijing. This was a decent substitute for the time being but the next time I`m home, I`m definitely going to force my parents to take me to a restaurant and get some. Have any of you ever had peking duck before? Would it be something you would try?
