I volunteered to make desserts for my mothers annual Christmas Eve party and in my discussing what I wanted to make my boyfriend lit up like a Christmas tree when I mentioned peanut butter kiss cookies. They happen to be his all time favorite cookie so because of that I knew I was going to set a few on the side for him to have and enjoy.
I had made a separate batch of cookies the night before and they burnt to a crisp because my oven is so temperamental and runs too hot. My first batch (which I baked the night before from a Betty Crocker package) burnt up in 5 minutes when the cookies are SUPPOSED to cook 8-11 minutes. This batch I ended up cooking on a lower heat setting and checked them at 5 minutes and then took them out around 7 minutes. They were totally perfect at that point. When they were work I stuck the Hershey Kisses into the cookies and some of them melted just a tad, but they hardened back up as the cookies cooled.
For these I used the recipe on the back of the Hershey Kiss bag (picture of recipe attached). Its one of the best peanut butter cookie kiss recipes. I love that theyre soft and delicious. These were a hit! My brother, who also calls these one of his favorite cookies, was in love. Success!
