Hey everyone :)
With more free time now, I find myself cooking at home a lot more often. My boyfriend also cooks for me regularly, and I think we`re both getting better at cooking! This was a simple pasta dish that I conjured up, but it was really good, and my boyfriend enjoys it too ^^ Continue reading if you`re interested in what`s in it!
Bertolli Organic Olive Oil, Basil, & Garlic Tomato Sauce
Hillshire Farm Beef Smoked Sausage
Sliced Red & Green Peppers
Basically all I did was boil the pasta for about 14 minutes, then drained it as normal. While the pasta was boiling though, I slice all of the ingredients as needed, then I fry the sausage in a pan. After the sausage is done, I place the slices on a paper towel to let some of the natural oil/grease from the sausage soak out.
Next, I took a deeper frying pan and put some olive oil in it to sauté the mushrooms, onions, and peppers. After they were almost done cooking, I added the sausage in the pan and sautéed all of the ingredients together for about another 30 seconds. Next, I added the tomato sauce into the pan mixed everything together.
Finally, I added in the drained pasta, and mixed everything one last time. I let it sit on low-medium heat for 5 minutes while stirring, then it was ready to serve!
Hope you enjoyed this post! It`s a pretty simple pasta dish, but I love how it`s delicious and easy to make! The Bertolli sauce that I use is really good, so I don`t need to add any extra seasoning/spices to it. The sausages are also pretty flavorful on their own, and I think for that reason the vegetables complement and balance out the entire dish without any added salt/pepper/extra additives. Definitely give it a try sometime if you like to cook and want something relatively quick but still good to eat :D Cooking at home is always much healthier than eating out, and you can cater the food you make to your own tastes :)
