Homemade Kimchi!

Hey everyone! I`m not Korean, but I love everything about the Korean culture. So I decided to try and make my own Kimchi. Although it`s not the traditional way, I`m hoping it will turn out good. So far, it looks delicious in photo. LOL

I didn`t follow a specific recipe so I can`t really give you exact measurements but I can list out the ingredients I used:

Salt + water (soak the cabbage for 1 hr. rinse. pat dry.)

Mix together:
Red pepper flakes
fish sauce (optional)
grated ginger
grated korean pear
grated apple
radish (sliced in matchsticks)
sprinkle of salt
rice vinegar (you can use this to replace fish sauce)
sliced green onion
smashed garlic or garlic powder
1 tbsp corn syrup

It looks like a lot of ingredients, but I just worked with whatever I had in my pantry. It`s sitting in my fridge for now so hopefully it will turn out good. Usually people will have it ferment at room temperature but I didn`t feel right doing that. LOL
