Homemade Crab Bisque

This is what I made for dinner tonight. It is a crab bisque. I was inspired by the Red Lobster Lobster Bisque. I LOOOVE their lobster bisque. Every time we go there to eat I get a bowl of their lobster bisque and then add 1/2 lb of snow crab legs on the side, and that is my meal.

I was so excited when I saw they posted the recipe to their website. Mama`s gonna be cooking bisque!

I ended up combining 3 different recipes together. I took bits from their recipe and then bits from 2 other recipes. The big change I made, though, was to put crab meat instead of lobster. Well, I went with imitation crab meat because crab can get pricey. Lobster is the same way. So, to make it a more budget friendly meal I used immitation crab. They make it out of other fish, basically. You can get it in sticks, which looks like you just pulled out a chunk from a crab leg or in chunks, which are just like you took crab meat and roughly chopped it.

It is sort of a lengthy process making it, but the end result is so worth it. This didn`t come out taking just like Red Lobsters bisque, but it was still very good.

I served it with asiago focaccia bread from the grocery`s bakery. It was good, but I really should have made my cheddar herb biscuits, which are similar to the Reb Lobster ones. I think they would have went better.
