Holi - The Festival Of Color In India

Because color is life and joy, there is a festival dedicated just to it! Its actually a Hindu tradition and festival called Holi, known in the world for "The Festival of Colors" and every year, Hindus celebrate it and go to the streets with colored powders that are most of them natural colors made from plants and recently some from synthetic colors and just throw colored powder around.

Its not just celebrated in India but in more places with Hindu religion/communities, but India is the biggest one and where there a lot of references to the festival.

The significance behind it is actually religious and there are different mentions to its origin from what i looked up but all of them have a religious side.
Even though Im not Hindu, I find this festival to be a very beautiful festival because of all the colors and fun also.
Check out the pictures to see what you could expect if you ever participated in the festival.
