This weekend I went upstate with friends to Sam`s Point Conservancy. According to the weather channels, it was supposed to rain, but it didn`t and it was even very warm out! We were shedding layers haha We explored the Ice Caves first. There were no ice, but we had water dripping down on us.
Afterwards, we hiked 2 miles to see the waterfall. We had to walk on streams and mud. So to avoid all that, we tired hopping from rocks to rocks (some of those rocks were loose!) and trying to walk through bushes (prickly darn things). This was all so we could keep our jeans dry and boots clean. Managed to get all the way to the end with only my left boot and sock slightly wet! :D SUCCESS! lol
We took off our boots and socks off and walked along the streams to get to an area that had a better view of the waterfall. The water was super cold and walking on mud and climbing trees barefoot was not an appealing idea to me, but was it worth it? HELL YES! It was beautiful and there was a rainbow!
On the way back, I stopped caring and trudged through every stream and mud there was...but I still managed to hit 3 trees :( My huge bruise after I kneed the tree is not so pretty lol
Have you hiked before? What and where was your favorite?
